Types of Help Available

Housekeepers


  • The Housekeeper Company offers the cream of Filipino, Asian and European Housekeepers.
  • Ideal for families, couples or individuals who are seeking to employ a reliable and discreet housekeeping professional.
  • Applicants usually range from 20-55 years old and are selected for their cheerful, hardworking and reliable disposition.
  • Typical duties include, cleaning, washing, ironing, shopping, cooking, polishing silver, flower arranging etc.

Housekeeper/Nannies


  • Provide responsible childcare and babysitting services in addition to the housekeeping duties, as above.

Housekeeper/Carers and Companions


  • Designed to help a mature person seeking housekeeping and caring support to help them to live independently in their own home, or a younger person with special needs.
  • Respectful and caring individuals – often trained in the medical professions or respite care in their own country – who can provide discreet assistance with bathing, dressing etc as well as the household chores.
  • Can also be employed on a temporary placement basis to provide care for individuals of all ages following illness or hospitalisation.

Housekeeper/Cooks


  • Perform similar duties to Housekeepers, but also possess culinary skills and are confident and adept in following recipes.
  • Cooking for family mealtimes, special occasions, dinner parties etc.

Part Time / Student Housekeeper


  • Part Time / Student Housekeeper Usually from the Philippines, aged between 20 – 45 years old, a student housekeeper is in the UK on a Student Visa and would be able to work officially 20 hours per week, during term time.
    • They would be able to work full time during College holidays. They would need time off to attend School/College, usually around 15 hours per week, depending on their course. They would be able to do normal housekeeping duties, including cleaning, washing & ironing and cooking as well as helping with children or the elderly. As they are mostly professional people, the majority of their experience comes from their own homes, but Filipinos tend to have willingness and a natural ability to undertake this type of role. It is the perfect solution for someone who wants the quality of a housekeeper, but does not need full time hours. Student housekeepers are currently available in London and Manchester, where they would already be registered with an appropriate local school or college. Usually the students have already registered and paid for a course with a particular college, so would need to find a position close to their college. Live in Student housekeepers usually get paid £140.00 - £150.00 net per week for 20 hours per week. If they worked additional hours, eg. in the holidays they would need to be paid extra, at a rate of £7.00 per hour. All food and accommodation would be provided for them. Daily student housekeepers would be paid £8.00 net per hour and would not need to be provided with food or accommodation. Tax and National Insurance needs to be paid for all student housekeepers. The Agency offers a 1 week trial period, and the Agency fee is 4 weeks net salary, followed by a 12 week guarantee period.

Houseman/Drivers


  • Provide everyday assistance with driving, gardening, odd jobs,swimming pool maintenance, running errands and general maintenance around the home.

Chauffeur / Driver


  • Driving duties, running errands, school runs and odd jobs.

Mother’s Helps


  • A live-in Mother’s Help is a boon for busy mums, providing everyday support around the home, with tasks ranging from cleaning to food preparation or bathing the children.
  • As many Mother’s Helps are able to drive, they may also assist with shopping and school runs.
  • They would not be able to housekeeping duties to the same standard as a housekeeper.
  • Generally more experienced than an Au Pair, a Mother’s Help is employed for around 40 hours and is usually aged over 21 years.
  • Our Mother’s Helps are usually from Eastern European and have a good command of the English language.

Housekeeper Couples


  • The complete housekeeping solution – these housekeeping teams provide all-round help in the home, including meticulous housekeeping and a wide range of maintenance/driving duties, combining the roles of either the housekeeper or housekeeper/nanny along with a houseman/driver.

EU Couples


  • The Housekeeper Company are delighted to be able to offer male & female couples from Europe who are happy to do household duties, cleaning, washing & ironing, help with cooking & food preparation, driving, washing cars, gardening, looking after children and / or pets, handyman jobs, shopping, running errands and babysitting.
  • Please be aware that these applicants will be happy to do what you require, they work about 40 hours per week each, with one and a half days off, but as they will have had limited experience, they will need training.
  • Their limited experience is reflected in the salary they command. Accommodation and food would need to be supplied.
