Our service is tailored to you.
We are a privately owned company, a division of the Childcare Recruitment Company Ltd, not a franchise, we’ve been in business since 1999, and are based in the Hale and Altrincham area. Maid in the North West is run as a sub division of the Housekeeper Company.
Our excellent reputation for friendly, professional good service, coupled with our high standards, has been achieved our self, not by lots of other people, trading in other areas.
As with our other divisions, Julia Harris, the Managing Director, insists upon only employing the best cleaning staff and she works on the premise that she would only send those cleaners out to her clients, that she would be happy to use to clean her own home.
The idea behind Maid in the North West evolved after we had received many requests from our
Clients asking for daily cleaning help; as previously we had only been able to offer full time live in help, through one of our other divisions: The Housekeeper Company.
We are currently able to provide daily cleaners in the Cheshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside areas only.
We are able to provide domestic cleaners, housekeepers, ironing services, house-sitting services, pet care, shopping services, gardening services and carpet cleaning to both private houses and professional and commercial clients.
How does the Service work?
We take your details over the phone or alternatively can email you a simple form to complete with your requirements.
Before commencing any work for you, we would require the registration form to be signed by you.
If requested, we are happy to come out to see you, to look at the size of the job.
Our cleaners usually work in teams of two and as an equal opportunities employer; our cleaners are both male and female.
We are happy to visit your home regularly and as often as you like, or if you have something special going on, we can provide a one-off visit, either in addition to your regular clean, or just that once.
The minimum total amount of hours for a regular cleaning booking is 4 hours per session.
What services can we offer?
We are able to offer the following services as standard, but we are happy to tailor a cleaning, home support or housekeeping service to your needs:
- Regular cleaning – We can cater for anything from daily cleaning to a thorough monthly clean.
- Spring cleaning – Any time of year, as a one-off or at regular intervals throughout the year. See below for more information.
- House moves – We are happy to help you make a new start in your beautiful clean home, or a final clean of your beloved old home.
- Special Occasions – Help prepare for or clear up after a party, house guests, a wedding, celebration, or just to treat yourself.
- Emergencies or Holiday Cover – Short notice call outs, ideal for crises, cover if your regular help is on holiday or unwell and sudden changes of plan.
- Tenancies – Post and pre tenancy cleans and inventory checks.
- Housekeeping – Everything from washing and ironing, looking after & feeding your pets, watering your plants, to running errands & shopping.
Spring Clean
- Once in a while we understand that every home needs a thorough clean. We can make your property feel like new and for greater flexibility you can create your own “To do” list.
- If you need a bit more than a regular clean then why not let us give your house the five-star treatment. We will clean every part of your property including oven, fridge, microwave and inside all your cupboards.
- This is ideal for rental properties and holiday lets, and whether you are moving in or out. You can also get your regular cleans underway with our intensive spring clean first.
- If required, we are happy to discuss over the phone or come out to your property and create a “To do” list together making sure you get the service you require.
Our Cleaners
Our friendly and professional team of cleaners, housekeepers and home support staff are trained to the highest standards of cleaning, hygiene, safety and customer service.
Unlike franchise cleaning agencies, the cleaners are employed directly by us and we are fully responsible for all payroll and all recruitment issues. Each of the team has been recruited for their enthusiasm and experience and all our staff are thoroughly trained and represent the company in a very professional manner. Most of our cleaners are from Eastern Europe and hold a current CRB check.
Am I able to book a one off clean?
Yes, we are happy to take one off bookings; however the minimum total amount of hours for a one off clean would be 6 hours. One off bookings would need to be paid for, by cash or cheque, at the end of the clean, when the cleaners would present you with an invoice from us.
We know that sometimes you need a little extra help around the home. Whether it is someone to do your washing and ironing, clean up after building work, pack or unpack from a holiday, get your home ready or clear up after visitors, religious holidays or a party, wait in for an important delivery or simply put your shopping away, Maid in the North West is here to help.
Is my cleaner insured?
Yes, we are fully insured and would be happy to show you a copy of our certificate of insurance upon request.
If I book a regular clean, am I able to have the same people?
Yes, we match our cleaners with our clients and will allocate you a regular two person team. If one of the cleaners is absent then we will replace them for you. We will also be happy to replace one or both of the cleaners if you are not happy with their level of cleaning service.
A regular clean would be a minimum of 4 hours per session.
As part of our ongoing staff training, we may occasionally send an additional member of staff to your job, to be trained by our other cleaners.
Our teams will always provide their own refreshments, which they will have in their own time away from your home. However, if the weather is hot or the clean is over three hours then the team may stop for a short break of five minutes or less during the clean time. This should not impact on the quality of your home clean.
How do I know that I can trust them?
At Maid in the North West all our staff are fully vetted, hold a current CRB check, and will have provided two professional references. No member of staff is ever employed without doing so. If any client wishes to see these documents then we will be pleased to provide a copy.
We would also recommend our clients are at home for the first few times the cleaners are there, so you can meet and familiarize yourself with them.
We would be delighted to provide references from our clients, these are available upon request.
Will my cleaner arrive at the same time each session?
We endeavor, as much as possible, to ensure we send our cleaners on the days and at the times you request and once you have committed to a regular booking(s) they will come on the same day(s) and at the same time(s) each week.
Should you wish for any additional hours, on an ad hoc basis, please arrange it through the Agency, not directly with the cleaners, and we will do our best to accommodate your request, but a degree of flexibility will be required.
How many hours shall I book?
If you are unsure then we will be happy to come out to your home or office and talk through your needs; we can then create a list together of what you require, making sure that you get exactly the level of service you need.
The hours required can be reviewed at any time, but if you wished to change the days or amount of hours, we would require a minimum of one week’s notice.
Would you be able to clean my office?
Yes, we are delighted to clean both residential homes and offices. We would be happy to come to your office, run through what you would like us to do.
At Maid in the North West, we have all necessary commercial insurances in place. We can organise the cleaning to be done during closing or opening hours, whichever you prefer.
What can I expect?
All our teams are thoroughly trained to our high standards. We provide them with the best professional equipment and cleaning products to ensure a consistent, thorough and quality clean of your home.
We use cleaning materials that are designed to have the minimum environmental impact during their use and subsequent disposal.
Do I need to leave instructions for the cleaners each time?
After an initial conversation or visit, where you would outline your basic needs to us, before they started working for you we would inform our cleaners of what you require. As we are aware that every home and client’s needs & standards are different, we recommend that to avoid any misunderstanding or disappointment, you write down exactly what you would like the cleaners to do, especially for the first few sessions. After they have got used to your routine and requirements, it would only be necessary to notify them if you wanted them to do anything different or extra to their normal schedule.
